Dubai Welcomes Travellers With a Special Eid Al Etihad Passport Stamp

Visitors landing in Dubai this week were met with an unexpected gesture at passport control – a limited-edition stamp issued to mark Eid Al Etihad 2025. The initiative, led by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA), adds a symbolic welcome to travellers during a month dedicated to honouring the Union.

The stamp features an illustration of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, capturing the unity and shared vision that shaped the UAE’s early years. The design ties into the ongoing 'Zayed and Rashid' campaign by Brand Dubai, now in its second year, which aims to reconnect residents and visitors with the ideals that guided the country’s Founding Fathers.

Arrivals were also greeted by cheerful mascots across Dubai’s terminals, creating a festive atmosphere for families and first-time visitors. Officials say the gesture is part of a broader National Month programme that spans Flag Day through Eid Al Etihad, celebrating heritage, leadership and the spirit of the Union.

GDRFA has marked major occasions with passport stamps before – from Dubai Airshow to Global Village milestones – but today’s commemorative design carries particular emotional resonance. It offers travellers a small but meaningful memento of the UAE’s story and the legacy of the leaders who laid its foundation.
