The tradition goes back to 2009, when the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix took place and Etihad introduced the fly-past as part of its title partnership. This year’s performance combined precision flying with a burst of national pride as Al Fursan painted the sky in red, green and black – the colours of the UAE flag – to the cheers of thousands in the stands and millions tuning in worldwide.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said the race is one of the most electric moments in the capital’s calendar. 'The fly-past is a tradition we’re honoured to continue, showcasing the Etihad livery over one of the world’s most spectacular circuits.'
The aircraft was flown by a senior team of Etihad pilots – Captain Adel Al Zubaidi, Captain Azizan Bin Othman, Captain Harris Kynigos and Captain Abdulla Alafeefi – who underwent extensive preparation to execute the low-level manoeuvre safely and precisely.
Held annually on Yas Island, the Grand Prix has cemented the district as a global entertainment hub, drawing fans not only for the race but for its live concerts, F1 Fan Zone, and world-class attractions.
