This isn’t your average drone. Suhail is armed with AI-powered LiDAR, 3D scanning, and computer vision, allowing it to map its environment in real time, locate fire zones, and avoid obstacles with surgical precision. Its jet propulsion system gives it vertical take-off capabilities and high stability, making it ideal for reaching upper floors of high-rises and tackling areas traditional crews can’t.
After a series of successful trials with Civil Defence teams, Suhail is expected to be deployed in early 2025. Its launch is part of the UAE’s wider push to incorporate cutting-edge technology into civil safety, a move that’s turning heads worldwide.
And it’s not stopping there. Sharjah Civil Defence is also preparing to introduce firefighting drones for high-rise incidents next year, capable of reaching 150 metres in under 20 seconds. Together, these innovations are setting a new regional standard for rapid, intelligent emergency response.
