Alongside these, an exquisite Egyptian carpet adorned with medallions highlights the Mamluks’ far-flung alliances and cultural exchange.
In October, Art Here 2025 and the Richard Mille Art Prize spotlight emerging talents from the Gulf, Japan and MENA under the theme ‘Shadows,’ with the prize announced in December after curator Sophie Mayuko Arni’s selection. These fresh works will stir conversations about identity and light, reflecting the region’s vibrant contemporary scene.
Early next year, ‘Picasso, the Figure’ arrives in partnership with Musée national Picasso-Paris, charting Pablo Picasso’s evolving vision of the human body from Cubist breakthroughs to later portraits. Highlights include ‘Woman Sitting in Front of the Window’ alongside Abu Dhabi’s ‘Woman with a Mandolin’, creating a dialogue between Picasso’s early and mature styles.
Beyond the headline shows, the museum will host hands-on workshops, evening talks and interactive tours, all designed to draw visitors deeper into each work’s story. New digital guides will unlock hidden details and behind-the-scenes insights, making each visit a uniquely personal discovery.
