Dubai: First 1,000 Reef Modules Completed

Dubai Reef, the world’s largest purpose-built reef development, has successfully completed the first 1,000 of its planned 20,000 reef modules.

Launched in April 2024 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, this ambitious initiative covers an impressive 600 square kilometers and aims to significantly enhance marine biodiversity  at depths ranging from 15 to 25 meters as part of the Dubai Can sustainability initiative. 

Yousuf Lootah from the Dubai Environment and Tourism (DET) emphasized the importance of this milestone for the development of marine ecosystems, while Ryan Paik from HaejooX assured that the project is on track with its timelines. Key strategic partners involved in this groundbreaking project including DET, DECCA, and several others.
