The initiative, announced by the UAE Ministry of Education, is part of a broader effort to strengthen national identity from an early age. Arabic will be taught by qualified Early Childhood teachers using age-appropriate resources designed for both native and non-native speakers.
Alongside Arabic, the curriculum will introduce Islamic Studies for Muslim students and a simplified, play-based Social Studies programme. Islamic Studies will be taught for 90 minutes a week, while Social Studies will focus on engaging children both inside and outside the classroom.
All schools offering approved curricula will receive clear learning outcomes and instructional frameworks. Regular inspections will ensure these standards are being met, with the ministry emphasizing its aim to cultivate a generation rooted in its cultural and linguistic heritage.
