Cult Japanese Spot to Open in Dubai

There’s a new kind of comfort food coming to Dubai – and it’s all about simplicity done perfectly. This December, Hikiniku To Come, Japan’s cult favourite dedicated to hamburger steak and rice, will make its UAE debut thanks to the team behind Kokoro, Bake My Day, and Pinza.

The name translates to 'minced meat and rice,' and the experience is exactly that. Expect charcoal-grilled beef patties served alongside refillable bowls of rice cooked in traditional Hagama pots. The restaurant follows a 'three just' philosophy – just ground, just grilled, and just cooked – a reflection of Japan’s obsession with detail and timing.

The setup itself is part of the ritual. Guests sit around an open counter encircling the central grill, watching each patty sear and smoke to perfection. Every sound and scent adds to the anticipation, turning a humble meal into theatre.

Originally from Japan and perfected in Hong Kong, 'Hikiniku To Come' has built a loyal following across Asia for its stripped-down menu and almost meditative precision. The Dubai outpost promises to preserve that spirit – minimalism, mastery, and a meal that lingers in your memory long after the last bite.

The exact location is still under wraps, but the opening is slated for December 2025. When it does, clear your evening – you’ll want to stay for seconds.
