Dubai Announces Month-Long National Day Celebrations

Dubai will mark this year’s UAE National Day with an entire month of celebrations, running from UAE Flag Day on Monday November 3 through to Eid Al Etihad on Tuesday December 2. The campaign, branded as 'National Month,' returns for a second consecutive year with a city-wide programme of cultural, community and national events.

Once again, the theme will centre on #ZayedAndRashid, honouring the nation’s founding fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, is leading the initiative in collaboration with public, semi-government and private entities across the city.

While the detailed line-up has yet to be unveiled, the 2024 edition featured striking light displays across landmarks, the popular UAE Flag Garden and concerts celebrating Emirati heritage. Organisers have hinted that this year’s celebrations will expand further, with more venues and institutions joining the effort.

Speaking about the initiative, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, called National Month a showcase of 'national solidarity and shared aspirations for the future.' He emphasised the importance of continuing the #ZayedAndRashid campaign to honour the vision of the UAE’s founding leaders.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, noted that last year’s campaign generated over two billion social media engagements, highlighting its impact. She stressed that coordination between government and community partners is key to amplifying the message and engaging residents.

Preparations for the 2025 edition are already underway, with many of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks expected to take part. Last year saw activations at Dubai Frame, Expo City’s Al Wasl Dome, Dubai International Airport, Dubai Festival City Mall and City Walk, among others – and this year promises an even broader showcase.
