UAE Announces New Benefits for Golden Visa Holders

Golden visa holders in the UAE are set to receive new privileges – including services previously reserved for Emirati nationals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expanded support for long-term residents, granting access to consular services while travelling abroad.

Announced at GITEX Global 2025 in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, the initiative means golden visa holders can now obtain emergency travel documents if their passports are lost or damaged overseas. The new electronic return permit will be valid for seven days and facilitated directly through the ministry.

A 24/7 hotline has also been introduced to provide immediate assistance, while golden visa holders will now be included in UAE-led evacuation and emergency response plans during crises abroad. The updated framework further streamlines procedures for repatriation and support in the event of death overseas, ensuring faster coordination with local authorities and assistance to families.

Since its introduction, the UAE’s 10-year golden visa has become one of the region’s most sought-after residency programmes. Initially reserved for exceptional professionals, investors, and innovators, eligibility has steadily expanded to include teachers, healthcare workers, content creators, and gaming professionals – making the latest update another step toward deepening the programme’s long-term appeal.
