Louvre Abu Dhabi Marks Its Eighth Anniversary with a One-Night 'Night at the Museum'

On November 7, the museum will open its doors until 1am, inviting visitors to wander the galleries at night, catch the sunset under the dome and enjoy a full programme of after-hours activities designed for film fans, fitness lovers, families and anyone who enjoys culture with a twist.

Instead of easing in quietly, the night kicks off with a knowing wink: an outdoor screening of Night at the Museum at 7pm on the Auditorium Plaza. Families can settle in for the free film (reservations required), while others drift toward more energetic distractions – like CRANK’s laser-lit rooftop spin sessions on the Gallery 12 terrace. Their rides run deep into the night with shifting playlists, skyline views and the kind of silent-disco energy that feels made for the setting.

Under the dome, the tempo slows with Breasy’s immersive breathwork sessions, where soundscapes and the architecture merge into a surprisingly calming experience. Those feeling creative can pick up a brush for the guided 'Book an Easel' painting hours, join a flashlight tour through the museum’s permanent collection or add a splash of colour to a community mural inspired by the building itself. For something entirely different, the Quantum Dome offers a 30-minute VR journey through Imperial Rome, Medieval Baghdad and Mughal India.

Whether your idea of a perfect night out is a family movie, a late workout, a quiet moment under the dome or simply the novelty of exploring the museum after dark, this anniversary event turns Louvre Abu Dhabi into a completely new experience. Arrive at sunset, stay late and let the museum reveal a different side of itself – one that only comes alive once the city winds down.
