Powered by SpaceX’s Starlink technology, the new system will deliver ground-level internet speeds at cruising altitude. Travellers will be able to stream films, make calls, game online, and browse social media seamlessly – whether through their personal devices or seatback screens. Access won’t require a Skywards account, payment, or complicated login; Emirates promises a simple one-click connection for everyone onboard.
The airline plans to equip all 232 aircraft in its fleet, fitting each Boeing 777 with two antennae and each Airbus A380 with three – an industry first designed to maximise bandwidth and coverage across every cabin. The first Emirates flight with Starlink will operate immediately after the Dubai Airshow, with installation on the A380 fleet beginning February 2026. Live TV is also on the way, initially via personal devices and later on seatback screens from late December 2025.
'Partnering with Starlink is another defining moment in our continuous commitment to ensuring our customers fly better', said Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline. 'We’re introducing the world’s fastest Wi-Fi, elevating what passengers can expect from inflight connectivity – from seamless productivity to real-time communication and uninterrupted access to their digital lives.'
