Located in Zayed City, in the south of the capital, the project is set for completion in 2029 and will introduce state-of-the-art features such as a retractable pitch, climate-controlled seating, and premium hospitality zones. Restaurants and lounges within the complex will remain open beyond match days, transforming the stadium into a community hub.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The masterplan was recently reviewed by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Al Jazira Club, one of the country’s top football teams, will relocate from their long-time base at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, where they have played since 1980. The new facility marks a bold step for the club – and for Abu Dhabi – in shaping the next era of sporting infrastructure in the UAE.
