The planting scheme includes native and adaptive species such as acacia and ghaf, selected for their ability to thrive in the UAE climate. Trees will be grown on site at a dedicated nursery before being integrated into the new landscape.
Expo City Dubai has appointed landscaping specialist Proscape to deliver the project. The company’s work includes land grading, lake construction, advanced irrigation and supporting infrastructure.
Ahmed Al Khatib, chief development and delivery officer at Expo City Dubai, said the reserve is designed to create a biodiverse, sustainable environment that preserves the legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai and provides an important recreational space for residents.
