UAE Surpasses USA in Supertall Skyscraper Count – And Dubai’s Still Building

The UAE has officially overtaken the United States in the number of completed supertall skyscrapers, according to the latest data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). With 37 buildings standing 300 metres or taller, the UAE now leads by six over the US. Unsurprisingly, Dubai is driving the country’s skyline dominance with architectural icons like the Burj Khalifa leading the charge.

The UAE also ranks third globally in all tall building categories, boasting 345 buildings over 150 metres and 159 topping 200 metres. While China holds a commanding lead with 122 supertalls and thousands more high-rises across major cities, Dubai continues to be a standout for its skyline density and architectural ambition.

Among Dubai’s current top towers are Marina 101 at 425 metres, Princess Tower at 414 metres, and 23 Marina at nearly 393 metres. Elite Residence, Kempinski The Boulevard, and the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai also feature in the city’s impressive top ten.

And the skyline is far from finished. Projects like Burj Azizi, set to rise to 725 metres with multiple world-record amenities, and the ultra-luxury Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences at 595 metres, are redefining what vertical living means in Dubai. The Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina, reaching 517 metres, is also in the pipeline, promising a new era of wellness-led high-rise living.
