The visa aims to simplify travel for non-GCC nationals, particularly the millions of residents already living in the region. Instead of applying separately for each country, travellers will soon be able to move freely between member states under a shared system.
Final launch dates and requirements are still being confirmed, but expected documents include a valid passport, hotel booking or invitation letter, proof of funds, insurance and a return ticket, all handled via a digital portal. The streamlined process means no embassies, no paper applications and no visa confusion at the border.
Announced during a GCC summit in Oman and confirmed by officials in mid‑2025, the visa has been welcomed as a major step toward regional integration and tourism development. Once launched, it’s expected to reshape how both residents and tourists experience the Gulf.
